As a designer I am constantly problem solving and evolving my jewellery designs. I research materials rigorously figuring out what shape and weight my creation will be. It is very important as I need to know that every piece I make will be comfortable and durable to wear.
Usually I start with scribbling in my sketch books, the next step is to prototype and recreate the 2D into a 3D with basic materials such as paper and card. Recently though I have purchased a new tool a 3D drawing pen. The pen allows me to recreate my drawings into more durable plastic prototypes, which are far easier to wear thus making it easier for me to see which designs will make the cut through to production.
